About the Den

Squirrel Away is a free-to-own torrent tracker. For every title in the stash we publish one verified best copy, checked against the copyright record and documented right on its page, delivered by our own torrents. No account required, no ads, nothing to buy.

Everything here is free to own: download it, keep it, seed it, share it — for good, with no one's permission and no one coming back for it. Some of it is free because the copyright term ran out. Some of it was dedicated to the public outright by the people who made it — the audiobooks' narrations, a crowd-funded Goldberg Variations. And some of it is an album its makers gave away under a license that keeps a term or two for themselves: don't sell it, or don't rework it. Each title's page names its license and says exactly what it allows beyond owning; where the page says nothing, nothing is reserved.

Sites that hand you films they shouldn't have hedge this — they grant you personal use, quietly, and hope you don't ask further. We don't hedge it, because there is nothing here to hedge: the people who own these works have already said you may have them. That is the one claim a piracy site can never make, and it is the whole reason this site verifies as carefully as it does.

We take the verification seriously. Each title's page carries its source report, which tells you which copy we chose and why, and its rights rationale, which states the specific legal basis and cites the primary record wherever the scanned archives reach. If we can't make the case airtight, the title doesn't ship. A few famous names sit out of the catalog for exactly that reason.

Meet Cache

Cache is the squirrel who runs the place. The name works twice: a cache is what a squirrel calls the acorns it buries for winter, and what a computer calls the copies it keeps close at hand. That's the whole site in one pun. Collect good things, keep them safe, and share them out again. When a page goes missing he takes it personally, and then he takes a nap.
