The Record
El Senor Ciuf Ciuf's As Seen from Above brings Oliviero Farneti's home recordings together with Matteo Mohorovicich on saxophone and clarinet and Daniele Dalla Pellegrina on trumpet. 12rec's account highlights those woodwinds alongside guitars, synth figures and vocal harmonies, moving among pop, jazz and dance-oriented ideas. The nine-piece sequence includes “I Feel Like a Clean Blackboard,” “We the Ants” and “Demons,” followed by the roughly nine-minute “The Unspeakable Chant of a Collapsing Universe.” Artwork adapts Joey Weiser's comic, while a fifty-copy hand-numbered CDR version reportedly included story cards.
