The Record

Graveyard Shift presents Guanxi through five compositions drawing on guitar, piano, bells, strings, flute, vocals, field recordings and electronics. Resting Bell's account contrasts noisy sketches with quieter drone elements and suggests that some pieces combine both approaches. The titles range from “Violin” to “Lavender Hugs,” with “Sea Cucumber,” “Coral Lanterns” and “Sword Lily” in between. The publisher uses a metropolis analogy to describe the layering of acoustic and electronic materials. Release description and source notes
