first summer and the running dream (2009)

herzog · 2009 · 29 min

First summer and the running dream brings Bill Bawden's herzog project to Resting Bell after earlier releases elsewhere. The five-track EP is described as a shift toward layered drone and distortion, with noise becoming more prominent as the sequence develops. Its unusually conversational titles begin with “congratulations, here's your mountain” and end with “lately i've been dreaming of drinking sound from a fountain.” The publisher offers seasonal imagery as a listening frame, but supplies no literal recording locations. The edition's five pieces and roughly half-hour scale are its concrete boundaries. Release description and source notes

Selected edition: 5-file MP3 edition from the documented source. 5 audio files, 70,448,142 bytes and 29:14 of measured audio.

Verification: source size and MD5; full audio decode; every torrent piece. The seedbox copy matched every file’s SHA-256 and every torrent piece; all files passed public HTTPS range, length and byte checks. The house client verified the complete payload and is seeding it.

Selected the source’s complete 5-recording MP3 edition in its documented file order.

Five tracks belong to this EP. The source's seasonal metaphors should not be converted into field-recording claims or a documented autobiographical story for the long titles. Release description and source notes.
