Reclaiming The Darkness (2006)

K.M. Krebs and Mystified · 2006 · 54 min

Reclaiming The Darkness grew from a sample exchange between K.M. Krebs and Mystified, the project of Thomas Park. The release account describes custom sounds exchanged across the Pacific, then developed into individual pieces by each artist. “Blinded” follows a different method: the collaborators agreed on a length and mixed their two contributions without hearing the other signal beforehand. The agreed length and unheard contributions give the closing piece a different collaborative method from the earlier sample-based work. Sandy Spreitz is credited with artwork, separate from the two musicians' sound contributions. Release description and source notes

Selected edition: 12-file MP3 edition from the documented source. 12 audio files, 74,949,715 bytes and 54:18 of measured audio.

Verification: source size and MD5; full audio decode; every torrent piece. The seedbox copy matched every file’s SHA-256 and every torrent piece; all files passed public HTTPS range, length and byte checks. The house client verified the complete payload and is seeding it.

Every unchanged published original matches MD5 and exact length and passes complete strict modern decoding; legacy decoder failure remains compatibility evidence. No repair or transcoding.

The twelve-track sequence closes with the jointly constructed “Blinded.” Selected original-file artist and creator tags identify tracks 1–5 as K.M. Krebs, tracks 6–11 as Mystified and track 12 as their joint work. The sample-exchange description explains the solo pieces and the blind combination that closes the album. Release description and source notes.

Source limits: Every original selected recording passes complete strict decoding with the current FFmpeg. The older seedbox decoder rejected the same original bytes; no source files, tags or encoded audio were repaired or transcoded. No comparative listening is claimed.

These are source and file checks; no comparative listening assessment is claimed.
