The Record
Kuu’s Ioplus EP marks Joonas Vahamaki’s Monotonik return under a new name after earlier releases as Substance. The label describes a seven-year gap and mentions his separate breakbeat partnership Nervous & Anxious with Niko Virta, while distinguishing this four-track material from that project. ‘Io,’ ‘Rosa’ and ‘Pine’ lead to a fourth piece literally titled ‘Bonus Track.’ Its visible listing is not a hidden-content claim. The alias history and separation of projects help identify the release without transferring another duo’s personnel or style wholesale onto this solo electronic EP.
