The Record
Polar Living is the first release from Lost Lanterns, the partnership of Ian Hawgood and Ben Jones. The two had worked in bands after meeting at university, then combined live instruments, computers and field recordings for this six-piece album. The source locates all the field material in the UK countryside during autumn and winter, giving the title a seasonal grounding rather than a documented polar expedition. “Echoes Of Love Remain” starts the hour-long sequence and “Seed Of Plant” ends it. The record's setting is therefore specific, even though individual locations are unnamed. Release description and source notes
