Sci-Fi Vol. 1 starts a three-volume Pablo Ribot project on S27 devoted to retro-futuristic film and television associations. The label says this first installment draws from music Ribot wrote, composed and produced in 2007 and 2008. Fifteen selections combine electronic approaches with jazz, glitch-hop and avant-garde references in the announcement. Titles such as “Half-Machine,” “Password Incorrecto” and “Last days in the Planet Earth” extend the science-fiction vocabulary.
