the world that was surrounded by a deep forest and warm light (2008)

ryonkt · 2008 · 24 min

ryonkt's forest-and-light release identifies Ryo Nakata working with guitar and a notebook computer. The source describes repetitive guitar chords, small melodic changes and delay layers between minimal folk and ambient music, rather than a conventional full-band session. Four pieces—“Green World,” “Kaze,” “Trip” and “The Night of a Quiet Forest”—carry that compact approach through the selected edition. The long album title gives the project an imagined place, while the accompanying statement supplies the actual construction method. Nakata’s earlier release connections include Dog Eared Netlabel, Noise Joy and Mandorla, placing this guitar-and-computer project within a wider netlabel history.
