The Record
Tiago Sousa’s The Western Lands adds guitar as a counterpart to the piano that the source identifies with his earlier work. Its title connects with William Burroughs’s book and the Egyptian mythological land of the dead, but the notes frame the seven compositions as Sousa’s own artistic passage rather than a literal musical adaptation. ‘Can any soul survive the searing fireball of an atomic blast’ opens the sequence; ‘The Writer’ and ‘The Valley’ sit among its middle pieces, with ‘Centipede’s City’ closing. The piano/guitar relationship gives concrete context to the release’s balance of noise, melody and repetition.

Selected edition: 7-file MP3 edition from the documented source. 7 audio files, 68,428,806 bytes and 40:35 of measured audio.
Verification: source size and MD5; full audio decode; every torrent piece. The seedbox copy matched every file’s SHA-256 and every torrent piece; all files passed public HTTPS range, length and byte checks. The house client verified the complete payload and is seeding it.
Selected the source’s complete 7-recording MP3 edition in its documented file order.
Seven compositions follow the indexed order. The accompanying essay names guitar and piano and distinguishes this work from a straightforward interpretation of Burroughs. Literary references are context, not sampled-audio credits. Source and edition notes.
