netBloc Vol. 13: color in a world of monochrome (2008)

Various Artists · 2008 · 43 min

blocSonic's thirteenth netBloc compilation combines ten music selections with a visual theme drawn from Sergei Prokudin-Gorskii's color photography. The source connects the packaging to Library of Congress material and a PDF discussion of separate color-filtered exposures. Contributors range from Nils Hoffmann and Poxfil to William Fields, Empathik and Mach FoX, placing “Sweet Man Like Me,” “Cairn,” “Que le Hip-Hop Renaisse” and “Reward Le Fin” in one curated program. The ten-track release pairs its musical selections with that photographic theme in its original packaging.

Selected edition: 10-recording original FLAC ZIP edition from the documented source. 10 audio files, 271,069,784 bytes and 42:39 of measured audio.

Verification: Archive published ZIP size and MD5; locally observed ZIP SHA-256; member CRC and size; full audio decode; every torrent piece (no independent member checksum). The seedbox copy matched every file’s SHA-256 and every torrent piece; all files passed public HTTPS range, length and byte checks. The house client verified the complete payload and is seeding it.

Selected the original FLAC ZIP edition’s 10 audio recordings. The member sequence and filenames match the source’s reviewed album program.

Ten recordings form the standard netBloc edition. Explicit performer/position prefixes become song titles and artist credits. The photography discussion describes packaging; its historical and rights claims are not a fresh determination for the displayed artwork, which retains its separate receipt. Primary source and edition notes.

These are source and file checks; no comparative listening assessment is claimed.
