The Record
Vim!’s A Random Collection Of Consonants brought a very limited CDR release into Monotonik’s MP3 catalog. The label frames it against seven and a half years of releasing the UK producer’s music in module and MP3 formats, alongside work for Surgery, Merck and Carpark. Sixteen tracks range from the title piece to ‘Merton Court Mash-Up,’ ‘A Tune Of Sorts’ and ‘Signing On Makes My Fortnight,’ with ‘Just To Be Serious For A Moment’ closing the set. The distinction between this downloadable edition and the earlier CD-quality CDR is central to understanding what the source offers.
