Seeders have the complete download. 0 downloading · 0 completed downloads.
Open the .torrent file in your torrent client to start. It includes the webseed. A magnet link opens your client directly; it may need peers to find the file details. No account needed.
First download? Start here
- Install a torrent client on your computer, such as qBittorrent or Transmission, from its official site.
- Choose Download .torrent above. This small file tells your client which files to fetch; it is not the film, book, or music itself.
- Open that file in your client, choose a folder with enough space for the download size shown above, and start the transfer.
- Once it finishes, open the downloaded files. Leave the torrent in your client to share it with others.
Browsing on a phone without a torrent client? Open this title’s page on your computer to download there.
Download not starting?
- If a magnet does nothing, open your client first or use Download .torrent and open the saved file from the client.
- If the client is waiting for metadata, try the .torrent file. It already includes the file details and available webseed fallbacks.
- Check that the torrent is not paused or queued, your destination has enough free space, and your connection is online.
- A recent seeder report is not a guarantee of a connection now. Webseeds can also be temporarily unavailable; leave the client open and try again later.

The Feature
Murnau's last German film and the most extravagant thing UFA ever handed him. Mephisto's wings spreading over a plague-struck town is one of the great shots in silent cinema, achieved with models, smoke and infinite patience. Emil Jannings plays the devil as a leering, delighted bureaucrat. Less disciplined than Nosferatu or Sunrise, and considerably more beautiful than either.

Print Report
Chosen print (2026-08-23): Archive.org item faust.-1926 — 720x536 @ 2.0 Mbps, 1.58 GB, 106.4 min.
Selected by a catalog-wide print sweep, which scores candidates on resolution and bits per pixel and rejects broadcast captures, AI upscales, colorized and frame-interpolated copies, wrong cuts, and frames whose shape the film never had. The downloaded file was verified byte-for-byte against Archive.org's published size and MD5, and the torrent was generated from that exact file.
Silent-era runtimes are advisory — projection speed was never standardized, so the same print runs materially longer or shorter depending on the transfer's frame rate. Runtime was weighed accordingly rather than used as a hard filter.
Watched end to end (2026-08-25). The bytes prove we fetched the file the report names; the watch confirmed it is the right print.
Public Domain
Why It's Free
Public domain in the United States by expiry of the full copyright term: published 1926, and every work published that year entered the US public domain on January 1, 2022, at the end of the 95-year term — renewal history is moot. As a German import the URAA restoration question is documented rather than waved at: even where the URAA restored a foreign work's US copyright, the restored term is the same 95 years from publication, and it has equally expired. No route back to protection exists for the film itself. The picture and its accompaniment are verified separately: whatever score the chosen print carries is a separate work on its own clock, cleared at print selection and documented in the Print Report before this page ships a torrent.
