The Record
Ian D Hawgood’s Spiral Into Somewhere follows The Fire Will Die At Night, with the label describing a lighter and less dense presentation. Four long titles draw on the accompanying first-person text, beginning with ‘How To Be A Child And Win The War’ and ending with ‘Feeling My Way Blindly Back Home.’ The notes identify piano touches, distant melodies and occasional moving beats. They also credit Y.S.Groen’s cover image separately.
