The Record
John Butler Trio's April 15, 2006 performance at The Vic Theater in Chicago, IL is preserved in this recording.
Jeff Lang joins a jam leading into “Pickapart,” giving the Vic Theater show its named collaboration. “Losing You,” “Ocean” and “Gonna Take It Right Back from the Start” appear earlier, with “Zebra” and “Funky Tonight” at the end. The taper describes a damaged cable that changed the recording chain and unexplained artifacts on the master DAT. Those disclosures remain material when comparing another source of the performance. The source recording and release notes document this edition.
