The Record
Just Plain Ant’s All Becomes Dust extends the Richmond producer’s blocSonic catalog through an album the label describes as further downtempo exploration. Twenty-two tracks begin with ‘Fade Out’ and ‘A Fine Mess,’ include ‘Squirrel Food’ and an ‘Acid Trip’ remix with The Honorable Sleaze, and move through the title piece to ‘Hypnogogia.’ The release note looks back on Ant’s earlier netBloc appearance and Dig Deep, but those recordings are not part of this sequence. The current album’s named remix and part designation remain visible, separating source-specific version information from the curator’s broader retrospective praise.
