The Record
Max Creek's Harpers Ferry recording stretches thirteen entries over three discs, with transitions doing much of the program's organizing. “Cruel World” leads into “Dark Water,” followed by “Columbus Stockade Blues”; another first-set run links “Yellow Moon,” “Devil's Heart,” “Life” and “I Know You Rider.” Set two begins “Fire & Brimstone” into “Down on the Corner,” then places “Double Dare” before “Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes,” “Willie and the Hand Jive” and “Something Is Forming.” Justin Kolack from Depth Quartet plays bass on “Double Dare,” a specific guest role clearly identified by the primary source.
