The Record
microtonner’s sub zero is a ten-track full-length on Laridae, described by the label through a combination of guitar playing, electronic beats, dark synthesizers and speech samples. ‘aerial’ opens the album, ‘frequency’ appears third, and the title piece precedes ‘third song’ at the end. ‘2005’ sits second, between ‘aerial’ and ‘frequency.’ Speech samples and synthesizer material accompany the guitar work in Laridae’s account, placing the ten-song album between electronic production and a heavier guitar approach.
