The Record
My Morning Jacket's December 31, 2008 performance at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY is preserved in this recording.
My Morning Jacket's New Year's Eve set includes a horn section, Nicole Atkins on vocals and Will Johnson on guitar. The countdown leads into Kool & the Gang songs, while “Auld Lang Syne” is sung over a prerecorded backing track. Curtis Mayfield, Sam Cooke and James Brown covers enlarge the program. The source also points to a higher-resolution version, making comparison of these separate transfers a concrete next step. The source recording and release notes document this edition.
