Ghosts VI: Locusts (2020)

Nine Inch Nails · 2020 · 83 min

Nine Inch Nails' Ghosts VI: Locusts is the fifteen-track companion to Ghosts V: Together. The artists' release statement deliberately separates the two projects' emotional settings. Here the titles move through “The Cursed Clock,” “Trust Fades,” “Your New Normal” and “Turn This Off Please,” closing with “Almost Dawn.”

That naming gives a useful map of the record without pretending that a metadata page substitutes for hearing its instrumental pieces. The 2020 free release has its own beginning, ending and artwork. Together remains a neighboring album rather than extra tracks, preserving the distinction Reznor and Atticus Ross made when they shared both projects.
