The Record
Ryan Adams' Seattle performance is unusually detailed as a conversation as well as a setlist. Separate banter entries punctuate “Bartering Lines,” “Peaceful Valley,” “Oh My Sweet Carolina” and “Everybody Knows,” while the second set includes “Come Pick Me Up,” “Cold Roses” and “Halloweenhead.” A challenge to play “Down in a Hole” is followed by that song, which the source identifies as an Alice in Chains cover. “Easy Plateau” comes near the end, before a final spoken sign-off. Retaining the talk segments makes the record of this Paramount Theater evening considerably more specific than its song titles alone.
