Tha Silent Partner’s eighth Platters act closes a ten-year series celebration with a tribute to Pete Rock and a dedication to Gregory Davis’s father, Lloyd Davis. blocSonic’s note links the reggae direction with the Jamaican musical background described by the artist and the music his father introduced. Ten pieces include ‘Majestic Riddim,’ ‘Love With Pat Kelly,’ an explicitly labeled 2017 re-edit of ‘2003 Limited Edition’ and a 2018 re-edit of ‘Natty Dread Rights 2010.’ ‘Same Song 2006’ credits co-production by his dad.
