The Record
Tha Silent Partner’s Tha Complete Platters Sessions XE gathers three sample-based acts and a bonus program across three discs. Gregory Davis’s first act explores lounge music and exotica; the second integrates an episode of The Untouchables with beats and melodies. The third, Tape Deck, occupies disc two. Disc three’s Tha Director’s Cut adds eighteen unreleased pieces from the sessions and related work, including guest emcees. This expanded edition has sixty-eight tracks. The package joins lounge and exotica, television-sourced beat construction and the Tape Deck act with a separate disc of session extras. Guest emcees appear in the expanded material alongside instrumental pieces.
