The Feature

Aliens resurrect the dead to stop humanity from building a doomsday weapon, using hubcaps, a shower curtain, and Bela Lugosi's chiropractor holding a cape over his face to stand in for Lugosi, who had died early in production. Ed Wood's masterpiece is inept in every department and completely sincere in all of them, which is precisely why it endures while competent films of the same year have vanished. Public Domain

Why It's Free

Public domain by long-standing distribution consensus: published 1957, renewal required in the 28th year and by all accounts never filed. The renewal window (1984–85) falls in the Copyright Office's post-1977 online records rather than the scanned CCE volumes, so the online renewal search is the named remaining verification step before the torrent publishes.
