The Feature
Corman handed a young Francis Ford Coppola some leftover money and an Irish castle and told him to make something Psycho-shaped. What came back has an axe murderer, a drowned child, a family that will not discuss it, and a real feel for dread that a nine-day schedule has no business producing. It is an apprentice work and never pretends otherwise — but the apprentice went on to make The Godfather, and the eye is already there.

Published 1963 — the last cohort still required to renew (the 1992 automatic-renewal amendment covers 1964 on, and this film missed it by a year). The renewal window (1990–91) falls in the Copyright Office's post-1977 online records rather than the scanned CCE volumes, so the online renewal search is the named remaining verification step before the torrent publishes.
