The Record
A Western Addition’s Lullabyes for the Sleepless preserves guitar recordings from a San Francisco apartment, chosen for their original emotional character despite uneven recording technique. The artist’s May 2009 statement specifically says ‘Sagano’ was made with an iPod microphone and that attempts to rerecord some songs felt less convincing. Eight pieces run from ‘Untitled’ through ‘Permanent,’ ‘Happy Again’ and ‘Dancing Devils/Sad Angels’ to ‘Whales.’ Those explicit limitations are central to the edition.
