So Far Gone (2009)

Drake · 2009 · 68 min

Drake's So Far Gone arrived on February 13, 2009, as the mixtape now identified on his official release page. It sits at the point where a free project could establish an artist's public identity before a conventional debut album. The original sequence gave rapping and singing space within the same release, with contributions from Lil Wayne, Trey Songz and Bun B.

“Lust for Life” opens the tape; “Best I Ever Had” falls much later in the running order. Hearing the project as a full sequence puts its familiar single back among the introductions, collaborations and shorter transitions that surrounded it. That is the value of preserving the mixtape as a release in its own right.

The reference list here ends with “Outro” and “Brand New.” So Far Gone also became a shorter commercial EP in 2009, documented in the release history. The selected download preserves the seventeen-track mixtape sequence, with its source and file checks documented below.

Selected edition: 17-file AAC edition from the documented source. 17 audio files, 137,178,688 bytes and 68:28 of measured audio.

Verification: source size and MD5; full audio decode; every torrent piece. The seedbox copy matched every file’s SHA-256 and every torrent piece; all files passed public HTTPS range, length and byte checks. The house client verified the complete payload and is seeding it.

The original 17-track 2009 mixtape sequence, distinct from the seven-track commercial EP and later 18-track streaming reissue. These are AAC files around 260 kb/s inside M4A containers; Archive’s Apple Lossless format label is inaccurate. The source names track 16 The Tourist, an alternate name for Outro.

Source limits: Documentary edition/source review and technical verification; no human comparative listening is claimed; Lossy encoding and community-mirror mastering lineage remain disclosed where applicable.
