The Record

56 Nights takes its title from DJ Esco's detention in Dubai. Future shared the ten-track mixtape on March 21, 2015; the contemporary announcement connects its opening “Free At Last” to Esco's return. The project followed Monster and Beast Mode in Future's run of releases before DS2.

Southside supplies most of the production, with “March Madness” credited to Tarentino in the source listing. “Never Gon Lose,” “Diamonds From Africa” and “Trap Niggas” are part of that compact sequence. Esco's role and the spoken pieces matter to its identity as a mixtape, even when listeners approach it through individual songs.

The reference here keeps all ten original entries. “Free At Last” begins the tape and “Da Fam On Da Gram Skit” comes immediately before the title track. Both belong to the edition under review; a shorter song-only package would change those boundaries.
