The Record

Future released Monster on October 28, 2014, six months after his second studio album, Honest. The FADER's release-day report identifies Metro Boomin as executive producer, with DJ Spinz and TM-88 among the other contributors. Lil Wayne appears on “After That”; much of the rest of the tape leaves Future at the center.

The sixteen-track sequence carries two interludes alongside songs that became lasting reference points in his catalog: “Throw Away,” “My Savages,” “Hardly” and the closing “Codeine Crazy.” Its producer credits also show the range behind that sequence, from Nard & B to Southside and Will-A-Fool. The title alone can obscure those individual contributions.

This page follows the original mixtape edition. The later streaming release omits the introductory pieces and “Fuck Up Some Commas.” Keeping all sixteen entries documents the tape as it circulated in 2014, including the interruptions between its songs.
