The Record
This Flowers of the Night archive entry documents a deliberately different format: Hajo Lorenz, Christian Meyer and Martin Willems performed as Uncle John’s Friends in a small Freiburg guitar shop. The notes describe about twenty attendees and a wholly unplugged show. Lorenz played acoustic and resonator guitars, Meyer acoustic guitar, and Willems percussion, with vocals credited to the two guitarists. The long sequence moves through ‘Cassidy,’ ‘Black Peter’ and ‘The Wheel,’ then a ‘Sing Me Back Home > Dear Mr. Fantasy > Hey Jude Finale’ passage. Its small-room personnel and acoustic setup are central to this edition.
