Turned, and Turning EP (2007)

Protestant Work Ethic · 2007 · 27 min

Protestant Work Ethic is Simon Usaty’s solo project, separate from his work in the Vienna group KES. The 12rec description presents Turned, and Turning EP as a selection from his 2005 self-titled debut, built around acoustic guitar, banjo, harmonica, accordion and percussion. ‘Set Out To Take On,’ ‘Weather Side,’ ‘Duba Ktana’ and ‘Walk The Plank’ lead its seven-track list, with two linked-looking titles closing the sequence. The source distinguishes this download from a CDR version that excludes outtakes. That edition difference is more useful than assuming every version contains the same material.

Selected edition: 7-file MP3 edition from the documented source. 7 audio files, 51,741,120 bytes and 26:40 of measured audio.

Verification: source size and MD5; full audio decode; every torrent piece. The seedbox copy matched every file’s SHA-256 and every torrent piece; all files passed public HTTPS range, length and byte checks. The house client verified the complete payload and is seeding it.

Selected the source’s complete 7-recording MP3 edition in its documented file order.

The seven-file download is retained. The source says the CDR excludes outtakes but does not conclusively map which selected files are those outtakes; this edition does not invent that assignment. Source and edition notes.
