The Record

Lil Wayne released No Ceilings on Halloween 2009, between Tha Carter III and Rebirth. Its twenty-one-track original sequence returns to the mixtape practice of recording new verses over recognizable songs, with short spoken interludes retaining Wayne's presence between performances. The original release listing documents both the date and those track boundaries.

The song titles make the source material visible: “Swag Surf,” “D.O.A.,” “Wasted,” “Banned from TV” and “Run This Town” sit alongside “I'm Single.” It is a useful picture of the rap and pop records circulating in 2009, filtered through one artist's writing. Preserving the skits also preserves the tape's pacing, rather than treating them as expendable gaps.

The later streaming edition lists twelve songs. The selected assembled copy follows the original twenty-one-entry program, including its interludes and closing “Sweet Dreams.” Its source files and mixed encoding are documented below.
