The Record
Metaharmoniks' Be a King organizes its debut around two downtempo originals and their reworkings. The Russian quartet, led by Anton Evtukhovich and formed in 2009 according to the release note, supplies “Be a King” and “Brahma.” Klitbeats and M.W.D. reinterpret the title track, while Artner, MustBeat Crew and the band itself reshape “Brahma.” Seven entries thus represent a two-song core explored through five additional versions. The primary statement describes lounge, electronic textures, funk rhythms and female vocals as connecting elements, giving the remix lineup a clearer context than a generic seven-song album count.
