The Record
A Mardi Gras parade runs through the middle of Phil Lesh and Friends' Bill Graham Civic Auditorium show. The source describes floats, dancers, stilt walkers and costume-contest participants during “Iko Iko,” with Ivan Neville joining on keyboards and vocals across that second-set opening. Phil Lesh, John Molo, Jackie Greene, Larry Campbell and Steve Molitz make up the documented band. The music moves from an opening “One More Saturday Night” to “Viola Lee Blues” enclosing “Caution,” then stretches through “St. Stephen,” “The Eleven” and “Unbroken Chain.” “Box of Rain” follows the organ-donor appeal at the end.
