The Record

Voices of Christmas Past collects early recordings restored and presented by Dawn of Sound, which made the collection available online after its CD went out of print. The source places the cylinders and acetates between 1898 and 1922, combining carols, winter songs, Nutcracker selections and spoken seasonal pieces. Twenty entries carry their individual year annotations, with ‘Sleigh Ride Party, Jingle Bells’ among the earliest and ‘Auld Lang Syne’ closing.
