David Clifton’s IKOS Christmas collection draws on the choirs of Peterborough Cathedral, a full band, orchestral players, solo singers and instrumentalists, according to its release note. The London Telefilmonic Orchestra is named, and Jane Siberry is specifically connected with ‘Silent Night’ and ‘Infant Holy, Infant Lowly.’ Fourteen tracks also include ‘The Gloucestershire Wassail,’ ‘Bethlehem Down’ and ‘Lullaby (Suo Gan).’ The accompanying CD booklet supplies histories of the carols, while Charlie Mackesy’s paintings provide visual context.
