The Record

MIT Concert Choir's Carmina Burana documents William Cutter directing a December 2, 2006 Kresge Auditorium performance. The source describes the version for two pianos and percussion and names pianist David Collins with solo vocalists Joshua Li, Stephan Jung, Daniel Cunningham, Michael Johnson, Sudeep Agarwala and Elisabeth Hon. The program begins “O Fortuna,” passes through spring, tavern and love-song movements, then closes by joining “Ave Formosissima” to the returning “O Fortuna.” That reduced instrumental setting and MIT personnel distinguish the recording from a generic orchestral account. The archive's 2011 release date is separate from the performance date stated in the program notes.

Transfer Report

Selected edition: 20-file MP3 source edition from the documented source. 20 audio files, 81,008,479 bytes and 56:10 of measured audio.

Verification: source size and MD5; full audio decode; every torrent piece. The seedbox copy matched every file’s SHA-256 and every torrent piece; all files passed public HTTPS range, length and byte checks. The house client verified the complete payload and is seeding it.

Selected the source’s complete 20-recording MP3 edition in its documented file order.

The source identifies the December 2006 MIT performance and links its concert program; 2011 release metadata remains distinct. Twenty selected files include the combined final movement/reprise. Two pianos and percussion are the specified setting; copied secondary historical commentary is not fresh scholarship. Primary source and edition notes.

Source limits: Source recording/transfer: http://freemusicarchive.org/music/MIT_Concert_Choir/Carmina_Burana_Carl_Orff/.

These are source and file checks; no comparative listening assessment is claimed.
