The Record
Wale's The Mixtape About Nothing turns its television reference into an organizing device. “The Opening Title Sequence” and “The End Credits” frame songs named after their roles: a freestyle, a feature-heavy song, a skit and a deliberately described Lil Wayne remix. The titles are part of the concept rather than metadata to be shortened away.
The original release report credits Nick Catchdubs with the mix and documents a free download in May 2008. The nineteen-entry reference keeps that structure intact. It is the first tape in Wale's related series, distinct from More About Nothing and the later studio album carrying a similar name.
