Grateful Dead's May 16, 1981 performance at Barton Hall, Cornell U in Ithaca, NY is preserved in this recording.
This is the 1981 Cornell show, distinct from the famous 1977 Barton Hall recording. “Shakedown Street” opens the second set, and “Spanish Jam” appears between “Saint of Circumstance” and the percussion passage. “Uncle John's Band” supplies the encore. The source documents Doug Mow's Nakamichi microphone-and-Sony cassette capture, with a later CD-to-FLAC transfer and minor editing; two “Drums” files reflect that circulated division. The source recording and release notes document this edition.
