The Record

The Grateful Dead's Cow Palace performance places “U.S. Blues” at the opening and joins the “Weather Report Suite” components into one first-set file. The later centerpiece sends “Playing in the Band” through “Uncle John's Band” and “Morning Dew,” then retraces those themes. “Ship of Fools,” “Big River” and “Ramble on Rose” lead onward to “Wharf Rat,” “Sugar Magnolia” and two encores.
