Our current edition. 44-file source edition; Gerry Olsen's Sony F-99S/TC-124 cassette source was transferred through a modified Nakamichi BX-1 and Tascam DR-07MK2, then DC8 processing. Original liner text assigns tracks 12–28 to NRPS, names guests and says Southern Comfort is unavailable. The mixed-band scope, cuts and residual distortion remain explicit. Read the transfer report.

The Record
The June 4 Fillmore West package includes acoustic and electric Grateful Dead material together with a New Riders of the Purple Sage sequence. The acoustic portion reaches “Uncle John's Band,” after which songs such as “Working Man's Blues,” “Portland Woman” and “Henry” occupy the companion band's section. The later Dead program includes “Casey Jones,” “Attics of My Life,” “It's a Man's World” and “Good Lovin',” with “St. Stephen” leading toward “Not Fade Away.” Gerry Olsen's recollections and the remaster notes describe audience conversation, snack-bag noise, cuts and stage distortion. The forty-four-file package is therefore a mixed evening document, not a single uninterrupted Dead set.

Recording source: Audience Recording by Gerry Olsen. Sony TC-124 single-capstan portable cassette deck equipped with Sony F-99S One Point Stereo Dynamic Microphone IMP LOW (hand-held). 120 minute BASF normal bias tape. Lineage via Dan McDonald ([email protected]): Master Audience Cassette->Nakamichi BX-1 (modified for flat transfer)-> Tascam DR-07MK2 (24-bit, 96kHz); DC8Forensics was used to apply the NAB curve for normal bias cassettes. Converted to 16-bit, 44.1kHz using 32-bit interpolation and a triangular high pass dither. After the NAB curve in a multifilter I applied a virtual vale and overtone generator for lost harmonics and used a channel blender to blend below 150 Hz to mono to minimize mic handling noise.
