The Record

This complete Grateful Dead Fox Theatre audience edition includes both sets and the encore. “Feel Like a Stranger” opens the first set, which reaches “Bird Song,” “Lost Sailor” and “Saint of Circumstance” before closing with “Deal.” The second set begins with “Scarlet Begonias” and “Fire on the Mountain,” then places “Samson and Delilah” and “Ship of Fools” ahead of “Playing in the Band.” Drums and space lead to “The Wheel” and “China Doll,” followed by “Around and Around” and “Johnny B. Goode.” “Uncle John's Band” closes the encore. John Hicks and Dennis Fong’s recording was interrupted during the first set; other audience sources fill the interrupted songs and two tape flips in the selected complete transfer.

Transfer Report

Selected edition: Complete 24-recording original FLAC audience edition from the documented source. 24 audio files, 2,431,225,248 bytes and 192:52 of measured audio.

Verification: source size and MD5; full audio decode; every torrent piece. The seedbox copy matched every file’s SHA-256 and every torrent piece; all files passed public HTTPS range, length and byte checks. The house client verified the complete payload and is seeding it.

The complete 2022 transfer of John Hicks and Dennis Fong’s audience cassettes supplies both sets and the Uncle John’s Band encore, replacing the earlier set-two-only selection. Its checksum-verified transfer list accounts for all twenty-four original 24-bit/48 kHz FLAC files. Unknown microphones and deck fed Sony Fe-Cr cassettes, transferred through a Nakamichi CR-5A and Edirol FA-66. The tapers were interrupted during Ramble on Rose: that song through Big River, eleven seconds in Saint of Circumstance, and twenty-six seconds in Drums are patched from other audience recordings.

Source inventory and delivery verification are recorded separately in the edition receipts.

Source limits: Original microphone and deck identities are unknown. The selected transfer includes documented audience-source patches during Ramble on Rose through Big River, eleven seconds in Saint of Circumstance and twenty-six seconds in Drums.

These are source and file checks; no comparative listening assessment is claimed.
