The Record
The Grateful Dead's June 22 Berkeley show opens with “Jack Straw,” then places “It Must Have Been the Roses,” “Cassidy” and “Row Jimmy” among the first-set songs. “Hell in a Bucket” leads into “Might as Well” at the close. The second begins “Fire on the Mountain” rather than its more familiar paired opener, followed by “Samson and Delilah,” “Ship of Fools” and “Man Smart (Woman Smarter).” Drums and space lead to “Truckin',” “Goin' Down the Road Feelin' Bad” and “Stella Blue,” with “U.S. Blues” and “Box of Rain” as the encores.
