The Record
The Grateful Dead's Lindley Meadows recording keeps the outdoor show's single long sequence from “Help on the Way” and “Slipknot!” to “One More Saturday Night.” “The Music Never Stopped,” “Franklin's Tower” and “It Must Have Been the Roses” precede a “Truckin'” jam and drums. “King Solomon’s Marbles” follows the drums, giving the late program an instrumental stretch before the final songs. Bob Menke's account places two handheld microphones on broomsticks near the stage, spread roughly twenty feet apart. That unusual arrangement is part of the document's character, alongside its disclosed soundboard repairs.
