Our current edition. 21-file source edition; Bob Wagner's Nakamichi cassette master was transferred on a DR-1 through an Apogee MiniMe at 24-bit/48 kHz and processed in Samplitude. The notes identify a cassette flip during Drums and seamless disc changes. A dash-only imported title is restored as Scarlet Begonias from explicit d2t03 notation. Read the transfer report.

The Record

A rescheduled Grateful Dead date gives this Madison Square Garden recording an unusual calendar context: the source says January 8 replaced December 1, 1978. “Mississippi Half-Step” leads into “Franklin's Tower” to open, while “Lazy Lightnin'” and “Supplication” close the first set. The second begins with “Scarlet Begonias” and “Fire on the Mountain,” then moves through “Terrapin Station” and “Playing in the Band” toward drums, “The Other One” and “Wharf Rat.” “Good Lovin'” finishes the set and “U.S. Blues” the encore. The source's cassette flip remains part of the edition's provenance.
