The Record

The Grateful Dead's McArthur Court set places a “Close Encounter Space” passage between “The Other One” and “St. Stephen,” giving the second half a distinctive source-labeled turn. “Terrapin Station” and drums precede it, while “Not Fade Away” and “Around and Around” follow. The earlier set begins with “Minglewood Blues” and “Dire Wolf,” includes “Cassidy,” “Peggy-O” and “Jack Straw,” and ends with “The Music Never Stopped.” “Bertha”/“Good Lovin'” starts set two, with “U.S. Blues” as the encore. Two very short patches preserve openings in the selected audience edition without changing its overall cassette provenance.
