The Record
Grateful Dead's June 20, 1983 performance at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD is preserved in this recording.
The taper recorded from the lawn near the repeaters and describes rain becoming audible during quieter parts of the second set. “China Cat Sunflower” and “I Know You Rider” begin that set, while a separately named “Bob Star” passage precedes “The Other One.” The weather is part of this outdoor recording's documented perspective. The taper's vivid recollections are useful provenance, while sound quality still requires direct comparison and listening. The source recording and release notes document this edition.
