The Record

The Grateful Dead's January 17 New Haven source opens with Bobby announcing the earlier November 25 cancellation, then documents the rescheduled performance. “Shakedown Street” begins the songs, followed by “Me and My Uncle”/“Big River,” “Peggy-O” and “Stagger Lee.” “From the Heart of Me” and “I Need a Miracle” close set one. Set two moves from “Scarlet Begonias”/“Fire on the Mountain” through “Estimated Prophet,” “Eyes of the World,” drums and a jam toward “Not Fade Away” and “Black Peter.” “Casey Jones” is the encore.
