Grateful Dead's July 24, 1987 performance at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Stadium in Oakland, CA is preserved in this recording.
Bob Dylan joins the third set of this Oakland show. The transfer places encore files at the end of the first-set disc to keep the main sets on individual discs, so physical file order is not fully chronological concert order. “Dear Mr. Fantasy” appears in the second-set run after “Uncle John's Band.” The disc-layout decision is disclosed rather than interpreted as the band performing the encores unusually early. The source recording and release notes document this edition.
