The Record
The Grateful Dead's Utica set opens with “Shakedown Street,”includes “Jack-A-Roe” and “High Time,”and closes its first portion with “The Music Never Stopped.” The second begins “Cold Rain and Snow,”then places “It Must Have Been the Roses” before “Estimated Prophet” and “Eyes of the World.” Drums and space lead into “Lost Sailor”/“Saint of Circumstance,”then “Wharf Rat” and “Sugar Magnolia.” “Don't Ease Me In” supplies the encore, but the entire song comes from a separate Sennheiser source in this edition. A shorter patch also repairs the first-set closer, so its apparently continuous program has explicitly mixed recording provenance.
